About Us
Aeon Imaging, LLC's mission is to apply novel imaging and image display technology to advance the medical and scientific fields.
Founded in 2005 by Dr. Ann Elsner and based in Bloomington, Indiana, Aeon has developed its core technology based on collaboration with researchers at the Schepens Eye Research Institute and at the Indiana University School of Optometry. This technology, protected by patents in the US, Canada, and elsewhere, exploits the flexible electronic aperture inherent in current CMOS sensors to perform unique confocal imaging.
Funding for Aeon's research and development phase has been provided federally at the National Institutes of Health through Small Business Innovation Research grants, as well as by the Indiana Economic Development Corporation through the 21st Century Fund.
Aeon Imaging was named the 2010 Innovative Business of the Year by the South Central Small Business Development Center and inVenture and has been featured in several news releases:
